Fremantle named in "Best Aussie Towns to Visit" by Australian Traveller

The votes are in!  And they confirm what we already know about Freo.

Fremantle has been named in Australian Traveller's "Australia's 100 Best Towns to Visit in 2026," coming in at #24 overall and earning a Top 3 spot in the History & Heritage category.

The publication praised Fremantle for its rich heritage, distinctive character, and ever evolving creative scene.  A well-deserved nod to everything that makes our city such a compelling destination for residents and visitors alike.

The list was shaped by a national panel of industry experts and much-loved Australians, who travelled from coast to outback and everywhere in between to make their selections. Western Australia performed strongly across the board, with Eagle Bay taking out best beach town and Broome recognised as best outback town.

For Fremantle, this recognition is yet another reminder of the outstanding liveability, culture, and opportunity our city continues to offer.
