Fremantle Prepares for Grand Final Fever
Fremantle is preparing to welcome tens of thousands of visitors as the city comes together for one of the biggest public events in its history, transforming the city centre into a giant live site for the AFL Grand Final.
With the Fremantle Dockers competing in their first Grand Final appearance since 2013, the City of Fremantle has expanded public viewing opportunities across the city, including the Cappuccino Strip, Walyalup Koort, Esplanade Reserve and Market Street. Combined with ticketed events and hospitality activations, up to 40,000 people are expected to visit Fremantle throughout the day.
The influx of visitors is expected to provide a substantial boost for hospitality, retail, accommodation and tourism operators, with many venues already reporting strong demand ahead of the weekend.

Road closures will support the safe operation of event sites and allow large crowds to move throughout the city centre, with additional security, event management, waste services and crowd management measures being coordinated in partnership with WA Police and specialist event operators.
