Business advocate wins 2026 THIS IS FREMANTLE Aspire Award
Fremantle business leader and advocate Chrissie Maus, CEO of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, has been named the recipient of the 2026 THIS IS FREMANTLE Aspire Award.
The award, delivered in partnership with Business Events Perth, supports local leaders to attend international conferences and events that foster professional development, global connections and opportunities for future business events in Fremantle.
Ms Maus will use the award to attend the Global Summit of Women in Bangkok in June 2027, one of the world's leading forums for advancing women's leadership, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
In addition to leading the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, Ms Maus is the first female Chair of Destination Perth and a member of CEOs for Gender Equity, a Western Australian organisation focused on accelerating gender equity through leadership and workplace change.
Ms Maus intends to use the opportunity to connect with global leaders and learn alongside women leading businesses, organisations, cities and economies around the world, and explore what would be required for Fremantle to be considered a future host destination for major business events and conferences.
City of Fremantle CEO Glen Dougall congratulated Ms Maus on receiving the award, acknowledging her ongoing advocacy for Fremantle's business community.
Business Events Perth CEO Gareth Martin said Aspire Award recipients play an important role in showcasing Western Australia's industry capability while creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and future conferences to be hosted in the state.
The THIS IS FREMANTLE Aspire Award is open to people who live or work within the City of Fremantle and aims to strengthen local leadership, foster international connections and raise the profile of Fremantle and Western Australia on the global stage.
