Affordable housing project advances in Fremantle city centre

18 December 2025

A new affordable housing development is progressing in Fremantle, supporting greater housing choice close to services and public transport while adding to the Fremantle's residential pipeline.

The apartment project on Queen Victoria Street will deliver around 50 new homes, with a mix of affordable and social housing designed to meet the needs of older residents and low-income households. The development will include one- and two-bedroom apartments within a seven-storey building located close to the Fremantle city centre and key transport connections.

The project is being delivered by Bethanie Community Housing with funding support from both the State and Federal Governments. This partnership approach reflects a coordinated effort to increase housing supply in well located urban areas and to improve access to secure, long term housing.

The progression of the project highlights continued momentum in Fremantle’s housing market. Alongside private sector and community housing developments, initiatives such as this contribute to a broader mix of housing types and price points across the city.

For Fremantle, the advancement of affordable housing projects reinforces its position as a place to live and work, while also providing greater certainty for those considering longer term investment in housing and mixed-use development.
